In Pursuit of Silence

Bradford Cathedral

Wednesday 27 Sep 2017 19:00

This film is a meditative exploration of our relationship with silence, sound and the impact of noise on our lives. It offers an immersive global journey from traditional Japanese tea ceremonies to Mumbai, the world’s loudest city, inspiring us to experience silence and celebrate the wonders of our world.

The evening will include a performance of John Cage’s iconic work 4’33” performed by organ and choir.

There will also be a panel discussion with Dr Helen E. Lees, Senior Lecturer in Education and Multi-Professional Practice, Newman University; Dr Rachel Muers, Senior Lecturer in Christian Studies, University of Leeds and Dr Alison Woolley, Director Seeds of Silence.
